Determining the optimal installation position for spacer rods remains a challenge. Commonly, unequal-stranded anti-vibration hammers are used.

Anti-Vibration Devices

Anti-Vibration Whips:

oParticularly suited for fiber optic cables like ADSS and OPGW, as well as low-voltage lines (≤132 kV) and small diameter conductors (≤19 mm²). They are made from high-strength PVC in a non-uniform spiral design.

Wire Protectors:

oMade from aluminum alloy or other metals, wire protectors are spiral pre-stranded wires wrapped around the outer layer of the conductor to enhance rigidity and reduce vibrations. Each end is shaped into a hemispherical form to prevent corona discharge. While their vibration dampening capacity is not as effective as anti-vibration hammers (reducing stress by about 20%), their protective benefits have led to widespread use.
